Novena Prayer for America

Join Us in Prayer for Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary

This July, as our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, Catholic Scouts across the United States will come together in a powerful novena to honor America and seek the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. United by faith, we invite Scouts, their leaders and their families to join in this special prayer for our country, asking for blessings, healing, and guidance as we celebrate our nation’s history and future.

Novena Prayer

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas,
You appeared as a Mother of hope and unity.
As we prepare to celebrate 250 years of our nation,
We turn to you as beloved children and ask you to intercede for us with your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray for us, loving Mother,
That God may pour out the Holy Spirit upon our nation and all the Americas—
Upon our families and loved ones—
So that, by God’s grace,
We may continue to build a nation rooted in truth, justice, and love.
May the Holy Spirit teach us to reflect rather than blame,
Replace division with unity,
Grant wisdom to our leaders,
And kindle compassion for the poor and suffering.

Pray Today’s Intention Now (see below)

As Scouts, through the help of your prayers,
May God make us leaders marked by courage, service, and holiness.
May we, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, be living disciples of Christ,
Faithful to the Scout Oath and Law, helping all Americans fulfill their duty to God and to our country in uprightness of life.
Grant, by your maternal intercession, that we may love our neighbors as ourselves
By being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.
Holy Spirit, come.
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and bless our land.
God our Father, be our strength and our peace. Amen.
